A panoramic view of Prague taken from the top of the tower on Petrin hill.
The castle can be seen on the left, and the famous Charles Bridge is just to the right of centre.
This is part of the route from the Charles Bridge up to the castle. It is a 10-15 minute walk
up a lot of steps to reach the entrance to the castle where the main changing of the guard takes place
at mid-day.
The interior of St. Vitus cathedral, located inside the castle boundary.
This is the Rudolfinum Concert Hall on the east bank of the Vltava river, not far from
Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. Prague is a wonderful place for hearing good music -
there are an endless variety of concerts and opera performances available across the city
every day.
We were advised by a friend to get up at 4am and visit Charles Bridge when the city is sleeping.
Normally, the bridge is full of tourists and souvenir sellers, artists and performers. Although it was
quite cold in early November, it was well worth the effort as the views up and down the Vltava river were
beautiful, and the bridge has a very different atmosphere when emptied of people.
