The Road to Pokot
After a three-hour bus ride from the capital, Nairobi, to Nakuru, a town of approx 80,000 people, I met Fr. Sean McGovern from the mission in Pokot, and we began the journey by road to Marigat, during which we crossed the equator by land.
This was about the busiest the traffic gets on roads like these!

Downtown Marigat - the nearest town to the mission at Kositei, with a population of approx 1,000 people.

Supplies of fruit and vegetables being purchased by Fr. Sean in Marigat's 'supermarket'
Fr. Sean collecting his post from the P.O. boxes in Marigat - it's a two hour drive to here from the mission itself.
This is one of the better roads between Marigat and the mission at Kositei - four wheel drive is a definite requirement, and you can imagine what it would be like when there has been rain!
