Now to Rockford, Illinois, in the mid-west. I lived here for two years
in the early 1980s, and went to high school here. This 1967 Mustang
belongs to Steve, one of my friends from high school.
Steve had just gained his pilot's licence and took me for a flight over
Rockford in a Cessna 152.
This is where I stayed in Rockford. The house backs onto the Rock River.
Unfortunately, due to the river being flooded, we could not take out the
boat or the jet-skis during this visit.
This is Boylan RC High School, my old school. Note the football (soccer)
pitch and the baseball diamond in the bottom left corner. The school has
expanded a little since I was there. Typical of American high schools is
the huge car park for all the students' cars. The minimum driving age in
Illinois is only 16.
