Arriving at 6am in Warsaw Central Station, all I really wanted was a good cup of coffee. Unfortunately,
the cafe in the main hall served what was possibly the worst excuse for a cappucino I have ever had in
my life. It was a sign of things to come - apart from in a Russian home in Moscow, I didn't get a decent
cup of coffee until arrival in Hong Kong!
The Palace of Culture and Science is situated just across the road from Warsaw Central Station.
The view south down Krakowskie Przedmiescie from outside the Royal Palace.
The statue on the column in the middle of the square is of Zygmunt III.
A statue in Rynek Starego Miasta of the mermaid (syrena) netted by the fisherman Wars. She begged
him to release her, promising to protect the city which he and his wife Sawa would found on the
spot where she had been caught - hence the name Warszawa.
A beautiful mosaic decoration on a house in the Old Town.
